MORRISDALE - Gas fumes from a motorcycle and an air compressor are responsible for causing a fire that resulted in approximately $110,000 in damage to a garage at 682 Emigh Run Road in Morris Township Friday night. According to Cpl. Thomas E. Josephson, state police fire marshal from Clearfield, when the air compressor kicked on, it most likely caused the gas fumes to ignite. David and Michele Mignot owned the garage. Firefighters from Morris Township, Wallaceton, Winburne and Grassflat fire companies in Clearfield County and Hope Fire Co. of Philipsburg and Moshannon Valley Emergency Medical Services of Philipsburg responded to the scene at 7:20 p.m. and were there for about two hours. Approximately 30 firefighters were on scene fighting the blaze that destroyed the 32-by-36-foot building. There were no reported injuries and the building was insured. |
