Vehicle Accident with Entrapment Print

The BJW Fire Company from Clearfield County was alerted for a vehicle accident with entrapment and fire, in the area of Walker Lumber on the Clearfield-Woodland Highway. Engine-Rescue 16 responded and while en route was advised by fire department personnel on the scene confirmed a two-vehicle head on accident with entrapment but with no fire. Deputy 16 requested additional rescues, bringing a response from Hope Fire Company. Rescue 11-18 responded with a crew of 5 and was assigned the job of extricating the patients trapped in the SUV. Extrication was accomplished by removing the roof and making a third door conversion. After extrication, the patients were flown to the Altoona Trauma Center. A total of 5 patients were transported, all using air medical. Units responding on the 16 rescue box: Engine-Rescue 16, Rescue 11-18, Rescue 5, Clearfield EMS, Stat Med-Evac, Life Flight, Moshannon Valley EMS, Clearfield PSP, and Engine 15.
